The protagonist of this story, Jack West Jr., seeks to find a way to assimilate this machine in an attempt to save humanity from impending doom. Jack West Jr. is an ex-soldier and archaeologist.

Written in a captivating way, this book keeps the readers engrossed from start to finish. Jack is entrusted with an ancient text that provides valuable information on the identities of the five warriors whose lives are associated in various ways with this ancient machine.

Matthew Reilly has written this book as the third in a series about Jack West Jr. The series has been written along the lines of Indiana Jones, which is a well-known action series.

The four warriors are discovered to be Moses, Jesus Christ, Genghis Khan, and Napoleon Bonaparte. However, the archaeologist and his team struggle to discover the identity of the last warrior, who is supposed to be revealed only ‘at the end of all things’.
